Educated manpower constitutes precious assets for the growth and development of any nation. The development of any nation depends mainly on the quality of its educational institutions. It is the most powerful and effective instrument for bringing changes in the socio-economic system. Education makes life self-reliant and inspires man to live with dignity in society. It gives me immense pleasure and feeling of accomplishment to welcome you all as the Principal of this prestigious institution. Teachers not only instruct the Students, but also inspire, for they influence the life and character of the students. Teacher education is designed to equip Teacher-trainees with knowledge, attitude, behaviour and skills to perform their tasks effectively. Children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Teachers truly shape the future of our nation. It is because of this noblest role, the teachers are revered. ASOM SIKSHAK PRASIKSHAN MAHABIDYALAYA (ASPM) has completed 32 years of glory, since its inception. ASPM has been relentlessly striving to achieve its target to inculcate knowledge among the students. The institution not only symbolizes quality education in the field of teacher training but has set the benchmark of a conducive ambience for education. The institution has its beautiful infrastructure, well equipped ICT Lab and Psychological Lab, Library and Reading Room, College Auditorium, Multipurpose Hall, Art and Craft Room etc. It facilitates quality learning by a team of highly qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members. The education imbibed provides ample opportunities to the students, teacher-trainees which will enable them to be academically bright, morally strong, socially sound, professionally confident and intellectually oriented. The clear vision of the management of this institution is to develop the college in to a “Centre of Excellence” by way of providing value of education with a view to contributing to development of human resources. I am proud to be a part of this Institution and would want to express my deepest gratitude to whole Faculty, Non-teaching Staff and members of the Governing Body of this college for their commitments to make our institution one of the greatest. Students collective efforts make it feasible to guarantee both academic and human excellence. Today, ASPM has become an Icon of Teacher Education under Gauhati University with the unwavering support and co-operation of all the Stakeholders, it has emerged as one of the leading Institute of the North East Region.
